You won't have to spend much time at the stove to make this cake salad. Follow our step-by-step recipe to the very end to create a delicious dish that will stand out on your holiday table.
Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Grate the boiled eggs on a fine grater and place on a plate.
Step 2:
Grate hard cheese on a fine grater and add it to the dish with the boiled grated eggs.
Step 3:
We also grate two cloves of garlic and add them to the other ingredients.
Step 4:
Add mayonnaise to the dish, mix everything and begin to assemble the salad.
Step 5:
Carefully unfold the crab sticks, then cut them into two pieces.
NOTE: It's important to carefully unwrap the sticks to ensure they remain intact. The filling of grated cheese, eggs, garlic, and mayonnaise will be spread on each half.
Step 6:
Place the halves next to each other and spread the filling all the way to the end of the unfolded stick.
Step 7:
We place the next layer on top perpendicular to the previous one.
Step 8:
First, spread the mayonnaise on top and then spread the filling on top.
Step 9:
Assemble the remaining layers. Spread the top layer with mayonnaise only, and decorate the sides of the cake with green onions.
NOTE: To prevent green onions from falling off, press them lightly with a spatula.
Step 10:
Decorate the top of the cold snack cake with grated cheese, parsley sprigs, and, if desired, red caviar (you can use artificial).
Cooking tips
If you are not using red caviar, you can add a pinch of black pepper or paprika to the mayonnaise for a more pronounced flavor.
Choose only the highest quality crab sticks so that they unroll easily and do not tear.
After assembling the cake, refrigerate it for 60-90 minutes. This will allow the mayonnaise to bind the layers together and prevent the cake from falling apart when slicing.
