Origin of the recipe

Sochivo is a traditional Russian dish served with the first star on Christmas Eve. Classic sochivo is a porridge, usually millet, mixed with honey, dried fruit, boiled poppy seeds, and chopped nuts. It symbolizes the beginning of a new life and its well-being. These days, sochivo is often made with rice, raisins, dried apricots, and honey.

Step-by-step recipe

Step 1:

Traditional Sochivo - Step 1 Rinse the round grain rice well, soak it in cold water for 2 hours and drain the water.
