Dried fruit uzvar
Origin of the recipe
Uzvar, or vzvar, is an old Russian drink similar to compote. However, there is a difference: while compote is boiled from start to finish, uzvar is steeped, brought to a boil, and then removed from the heat. This drink retains many more nutrients. Place a pitcher of fragrant dried fruit uzvar on the table during the Christmas holiday.

Cooking tips
If you are making uzvar with sugar instead of honey, add 2-3 tablespoons of sugar to boiling water, simmer for a few minutes, and only then add dried fruit.
You can cover the pan not only with a lid, but also with a towel or blanket so that the uzvar cools more slowly and the dried fruits release their flavor better.
Do not add honey to hot uzvar, otherwise its beneficial properties will be largely lost.
