French fries are a favorite among many, thanks to their ribbed surface, which helps them absorb sauce. French fries are often associated with American fast food, but that doesn't mean they can't be part of any cuisine. Try Korean fries, battered and topped with an oriental sauce.
Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Place all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and black sesame seeds in a bowl.
Step 2:
Pour in water in portions and stir with a whisk.
Step 3:
Add ginger paste and crushed garlic.
Step 4:
Place frozen French fries into the prepared batter and coat thoroughly with the mixture.
Step 5:
Pour deep-frying oil into a deep frying pan and heat it.
Step 6:
Fry the potatoes in batches in oil until golden brown.
Step 7:
Let's prepare the sauce. Pour a little vegetable oil into a clean frying pan, add the ginger paste and crushed garlic, and lightly fry.
Step 8:
Add soy sauce, brown sugar, ketchup and Sriracha sauce to the pan, stir and bring to a boil.
Step 9:
Place the potatoes in the pan, mix with the sauce and fry over high heat for a few minutes.
Step 10:
Sprinkle with white sesame seeds and green onions and serve.
Cooking tips
To check the temperature of your frying oil, skewer a piece of potato and insert it into the oil. If bubbles form and rise to the surface, the oil is at the correct temperature.
You can use any other chili sauce instead of Sriracha sauce.
