Even if you've managed to create the perfect barbecue marinade and marinate the meat, most of the onion will still remain in the marinating container, making it impossible to eat raw. Prepare some marinated onions for your barbecue, which you can simply add to the plate with the finished grilled meat!

Step-by-step recipe

Step 1:

Pour cold water into a bowl, add vinegar, sugar, salt and stir.

Step 2:

Finely chop the dill and add to the marinade.

Step 3:

Cut the onion into half rings, separate them, add to the marinade and mix.

Step 4:

Leave to marinate for 20 minutes.

Cooking tips

Instead of regular onions, you can use red, Yalta or shallot onions.

Regular nine percent table vinegar can be replaced with apple, rice, or wine vinegar, but then you'll have to use more of it.

You can add green onions and/or parsley to the dill, then the appetizer will be even more flavorful.
