Lingonberry jam is a traditional gift of early autumn in central Russia. There are a variety of ways to make lingonberry jam at home. This smooth lingonberry jam, also known as confiture, is perfect for morning sandwiches or simply with tea. It takes no more than ten minutes to make!

Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Place fresh lingonberries in a saucepan and sprinkle with sugar.
Step 2:
Add cornstarch and room temperature water. Stir.
Step 3:
Place the saucepan on the fire and cook for three minutes, stirring.
Step 4:
Remove the ladle from the heat and crush the berries thoroughly with a pestle.
Step 5:
Return the jam to the stove and cook for another 4-5 minutes.
Step 6:
Let it cool slightly, pour into another container, cover with cling film tightly to the surface and put in the refrigerator overnight.
Cooking tips
Do not make the heat too high and stir constantly to prevent the jam from burning.
The jam should be tightly covered with film to prevent it from drying out.
