Vegan Savoy Cabbage Rolls

Savoy cabbage is a type of regular garden cabbage, but with greener, netted leaves and a looser center. It originates in Italy and was cultivated as early as Ancient Rome. This cabbage is more tender and sweeter than white cabbage. Make vegan Savoy cabbage rolls with a breadcrumb crust and vegetable filling.

Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Separate the Savoy cabbage head into leaves, place them in a bowl, pour boiling water over them, cover with a lid and leave for 30 minutes.
Step 2:
Peel and cut the potatoes and boil them in salted water until soft.
Step 3:
Dice the red salad onion.
Step 4:
Pour oil into a frying pan and fry the onion.
Step 5:
Remove the seeds from the red bell pepper, dice it, and add it to the pan. Season with salt and pepper and stir.
Step 6:
Place boiled potatoes in a bowl and mash with a masher.
Step 7:
Add the fried vegetables to the mashed potatoes and stir.
Step 8:
Remove the cabbage leaves from the water and cut them in half, removing the tough stem.
Step 9:
Place a tablespoon of filling on the corner of the half sheet and fold it over to form a triangle. Repeat with all ingredients.
Step 10:
Pour vegan milk into a bowl and soak the cabbage rolls in it, then roll them in breadcrumbs.
Step 11:
Fry the cabbage rolls in a frying pan with oil on both sides.
Step 12:
Serve with your favorite sauce.
Cooking tips
If you are not vegan, you can use egg mixture instead of vegan milk.
If you want to make the dish more protein-rich, you can add boiled chickpeas to the filling.
You can add any seasonings to the dish according to your taste.
