Origin of the recipe

These days, not every family makes paskha (curd paska) cake. And that's a shame! It's quite simple, inexpensive, and delicious. The custom of placing a sweet pyramid of curd on the Easter table is common in central and northern Russia, while in the south, paskha (paska) is called kulich (Easter cake). The shape of the paskha symbolizes the Holy Sepulchre, and a wooden or plastic mold is used to shape the curd mixture into this shape.
