Easter Pizzagaina Pie
Origin of the recipe
The Italian Easter pie, Pizzagaina (also known as "Pizza Rustica"), marks a joyful farewell to Lent. While most countries celebrate the fast with sweet pastries, in Italy, the Easter table is always filled with a pie filled with pepperoni, ricotta cheese, and two types of cured pork called coppa. This is a very filling holiday dish for the whole family.
