Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Cut the lime in half and set the wedge aside.
Step 2:
Squeeze all the juice out of the lime.
Step 3:
Pour salt onto a plate.
Step 4:
Rub the rim of the glass with a lime wedge.
Step 5:
Dip the oiled rim of the glass into the salt on the plate.
Step 6:
Place ice in a blender.
Step 7:
Pour tequila, Cointreau, and lime juice into a blender.
Step 8:
Mix the contents of the blender and pour into a glass.
Step 9:
Garnish the glasses with a lime wedge and enjoy!
Cooking tips
The blender should be powerful, otherwise the ice won't crumble quickly enough and will end up melting from the heat of the blades. Also, keep in mind that cheap blenders don't always use blades made of good steel and can be damaged by ice chunks.
It is best to chill the glasses in advance in the refrigerator or by filling them with ice.
