Greek-style fish
Origin of the recipe
Basic ingredients such as fish, olive oil, lemons, and fresh vegetables are typical of many Mediterranean countries, including Greece, Italy, and Spain. These ingredients have been readily available and used in cooking for centuries. In the Soviet Union, the Greek fish recipe became popular in the 1960s. It was adapted to suit readily available ingredients and became a popular appetizer on holiday tables.

As is often the case, so-called "Greek-style fish" has nothing to do with Greece; rather, it has its roots in Polish cuisine. Regardless, white fish baked in a sauce of cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, and tomatoes is easy to prepare, delicious, and looks very appetizing—what more could you want?
Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Clean and cut the fish into pieces.
Step 2:
Finely dice the tomato, grate the hard cheese and mix them in a bowl.
Step 3:
Add crushed garlic, mayonnaise and sour cream. Mix well.
Step 4:
Add fish spices and stir.
Step 5:
Place the fish pieces in a baking dish greased with vegetable oil, cover with the prepared sauce and bake for 30-35 minutes at 180 degrees.
Cooking tips
White fish such as cod, hake, and pollock are best suited for this dish.
Cut the fish into flat pieces, like steaks.
Use firm, not overripe tomatoes, otherwise they will turn into mush.
