Sweet pork with pineapple
Origin of the recipe
Sweet and sour pork is perhaps the most famous dish of Chinese cuisine. Meat and sweet fruits may seem incompatible, but this is far from the case, as proven not only by the Chinese but also by Scandinavians, for example. Pork, which was readily available in China even in ancient times, has a slightly sweet flavor of its own, so it pairs perfectly with aromatic pineapple. This meat can be served with rice or any other side dish.

Cooking tips
It is better to use lean pork for this dish.
A more well-known version involves marinating pork pieces in a mixture of egg, starch, and soy sauce, and then frying them in a wok in hot oil. This creates a beautiful, glossy crust on the meat, but the pan-fried version is healthier.
It is better to use canned pineapples and the juice that is already in the jar.
The amount of soy sauce can be adjusted to suit your taste and preference, as can the simmering time. A little water can be added to the sauce.
