Black Forest Cake
Origin of the recipe
Black Forest cake, or Schwarzwald cake, is a classic German dish. It's a chocolate cake with whipped cream and "drunken cherries." The chocolate shavings on the cake resemble branches and logs, and the decorations resemble traditional Black Forest women's hats with pom-poms. Furthermore, the strong alcoholic drink Kirschwasser, which is an ingredient in the cake, is produced in this region.

Cooking tips
Cherry liqueur can be used instead of Kirschwasser.
Try to cut the chocolate chips so that they curl into large and small tubes.
If you don't have a food processor, you can beat the sponge cake dough with a mixer, but this will take more time.
You will need molds with a diameter of 20 cm.
Make sure to moisten the cakes thoroughly with syrup, otherwise they will be too dry.
