Crispy potato sticks

You can make almost anything with potatoes – from stews and main courses to baked goods and appetizers. Everyone loves potatoes for their unique crunch, but they're not the only thing on the planet. Try these crispy potato sticks baked in the oven with natural seaweed, rich in protein, vitamins, and immune-boosting properties.

Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Peel the potatoes, cut into slices, cover with water and microwave for 7 minutes at 700 W.
Step 2:
Mash the potatoes with a masher while they are hot.
Step 3:
Place the mashed potatoes in a bowl and add 60 grams of unsalted butter, a tablespoon of sugar, 2 pinches of salt, 60 grams of cornstarch, 60 grams of flour and crushed seaweed sheets seasoned with salt and sesame oil.
Step 4:
Mix all ingredients and knead the dough with your hand.
Step 5:
Place the dough on a board and roll it out with a rolling pin into a square approximately 5 mm thick.
Step 6:
Trim the edges of the square evenly and cut it into 1cm wide strips.
Step 7:
Carefully place the strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 25 minutes in an oven preheated to 180 degrees.
Step 8:
Cool the chopsticks before eating to make them crispy.
Cooking tips
Microwave the potatoes by adding a little water to the baking dish and covering tightly, such as with silicone stretch film. Never use foil or metal utensils!
If you have regular fresh seaweed, add an additional 2 pinches of salt.
If the sticks are not crispy enough, bake them a little longer until they become a richer color.
Seaweed can be replaced with sesame seeds, green onions or nuts.
The trimmed edges can be shaped and baked along with the sticks.
