Flatbreads are a traditional bread substitute in the Caucasus, the Middle East, India, and Latin America. They are used instead of spoons and plates and are used to wrap a variety of fillings. Try a very simple recipe for delicious fried flour flatbreads filled with ground meat and simple yet aromatic seasonings.

Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Place ground beef in a bowl.
Step 2:
Finely chop the shallots and add to the minced meat.
Step 3:
Finely chop the parsley and add to the bowl.
Step 4:
Beat the egg in a bowl, add salt and pepper to taste, half a teaspoon of garlic powder and half a teaspoon of sweet paprika.
Step 5:
Knead the minced meat thoroughly with your hands.
Step 6:
Evenly coat half of the tortilla with the filling, cover with the other half and press down.
Step 7:
Repeat this with the remaining flatbreads and minced meat.
Step 8:
Pour 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil into the frying pan and fry the first two flatbreads over medium heat for 5-6 minutes on one side and 5 minutes on the other.
Step 9:
Do this with all the flatbreads, sprinkle with parsley and serve.
Cooking tips
When buying minced meat, choose lean meat with 7% fat and 93% meat.
Instead of tortillas, you can use any thin unleavened flatbread, lavash, or make your own by mixing flour with water, rolling out 6 pieces of dough and lightly frying in a frying pan.
