Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Pour warm milk into a bowl, add sugar, and dry yeast. Stir with a whisk.
Step 2:
Cover with film and leave for 5 minutes.
Step 3:
Add salt, melted butter, and egg whites. Whisk.
Step 4:
Add flour, mix with a spatula, knead the dough with your hand, cover with film and leave for 40-45 minutes.
Step 5:
Finely chop the onion and mix it with the ground beef in a clean bowl. Add salt and stir.
Step 6:
Punch down the risen dough, place it on a surface, divide it into four parts and roll into balls.
Step 7:
Dust the dough ball with flour and roll it into a circle. Place the circle of dough on parchment paper.
Step 8:
Place the filling in the form of a circle in the center and a ring with indentations from the circle and the edge.
Step 9:
Roll out another piece of dough into a circle and cover the dough with the filling with it.
Step 10:
Press the dough around the filling ring and prick the center with a fork.
Step 11:
Make 20 cuts from the center to the edge.
Step 12:
Pinch one edge of each "ray" and turn them over so the open part is facing up. Open them slightly and flatten them.
Step 13:
Mix two egg yolks with milk and brush the top and sides of the pie with the "rays".
Step 14:
Bake for 34-40 minutes at 180 degrees.
Step 15:
Make a second pie from the remaining ingredients.
Cooking tips
Leave enough space around the filling to allow the pie to close securely.
You need to prick the center of the pie with a fork to prevent it from bursting from the steam.
