Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Sift the flour into a large bowl.
Step 2:
Beat the egg, add salt and vegetable oil, pour in warm water. Mix well.
Step 3:
Knead the dough in a bowl on a floured surface, return it to the bowl, cover with plastic wrap and set aside for 30-40 minutes.
Step 4:
Rinse the raisins well and soak them in boiling water for 15 minutes, then drain and dry on a paper towel.
Step 5:
Remove the cores from the apples, cut into small cubes, place in a bowl, sprinkle with lemon juice and mix.
Step 6:
Grind the walnut kernels.
Step 7:
Add raisins, nuts, sugar and cinnamon to the apples. Stir.
Step 8:
Dust a large linen towel with flour and roll the dough out into a thin rectangle.
Step 9:
Place the filling, leaving 2-3 centimeters from the long edges, and roll the roll tightly using a towel.
Step 10:
Place the strudel on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the strudel with melted butter and bake for 35-40 minutes at 180 degrees, removing it periodically and brushing with butter.
Step 11:
Serve with berries or ice cream.
Cooking tips
Apples must be sprinkled with lemon juice, otherwise they will darken.
The dough for strudel should be so thin that at least the design on the towel is visible through it.
You should grease the strudel with butter 3-4 times during baking.
