Bacon-wrapped chicken breast terrine

A terrine is a classic French dish, named after the special baking dish (terrine). The technique involves layering ingredients and then baking. This recipe alternates tender slices of chicken, thinly sliced potatoes, and melted cheese, topped with a fragrant bacon casing. Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Place 300 grams of bacon in a rectangular baking dish, hanging the strips over the sides and covering the entire dish with bacon, including the bottom.
Step 2:
Cut the potatoes into thin slices and place them overlapping on the bottom of the pan, sprinkle with salt, pepper and sweet paprika.
Step 3:
Grate 280 grams of hard cheese on a fine grater and spread some of it in a layer on the potatoes in the pan.
Step 4:
Cut the chicken fillet into thin slices according to thickness.
Step 5:
Place one layer of these slices in the pan on top of the cheese.
Step 6:
Repeat the previous steps two more times, layering potatoes, cheese, and chicken.
Step 7:
Place the final layer of potatoes and overlap the free ends of the bacon strips to ensure there are no gaps.
Step 8:
Bake in the oven for 35 minutes at 180 degrees.
Step 9:
Remove the finished terrine from the mold.
Step 10:
Slice and serve with herbs and your favorite sauce.
Cooking tips
Use only good-quality chilled chicken breasts. The breasts shouldn't be too large, as larger chickens are often raised on hormone supplements. They should have a fresh appearance and smell.
Use a 10 x 24 cm baking dish with fairly high sides.
