Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Pour sour cream into a bowl, add sugar and stir with a spatula.
Step 2:
Add vegetable oil and whisk.
Step 3:
Add coconut flakes and stir.
Step 4:
Sift flour and baking powder into the mixture through a sieve. Whisk to combine.
Step 5:
Place three tablespoons of dough in another bowl.
Step 6:
Line the bottom of a round baking pan with paper.
Step 7:
Pour the batter into the pan and smooth it out.
Step 8:
Add melted dark chocolate to the reserved portion of dough and stir.
Step 9:
Using a teaspoon, drop large drops of chocolate batter onto the surface of the cake and lightly mix them into the white batter to create streaks.
Step 10:
Preheat oven to 180 degrees and bake for 45-50 minutes.
Cooking tips
Sift the flour through a sieve to remove any lumps. If the flour has caked, it's best to use a sieve with a lump-breaking attachment.
Chocolate can be quickly melted in a double boiler or in a microwave.
Don't mix the chocolate dough too vigorously, otherwise you won't get beautiful patterns.
