Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Cut the cheese into equal-sized sticks (approximately 5–7 cm). These cheese sticks will form the basis of our simple yet impressive appetizer.
Step 2:
In three separate bowls, combine flour, beat an egg with a pinch of salt, and sprinkle in the breadcrumbs. This is the classic way to prepare ingredients for a crispy crust.
Step 3:
Dip each cheese stick in flour, then in egg, and finally in breadcrumbs, coating the surface evenly.
Step 4:
Place the sticks in the air fryer basket or on a parchment-lined baking sheet. To ensure crispy cheese sticks on all sides, do not place them too close together.
Step 5:
Bake in an air fryer at 190°C for 8–10 minutes or in the oven at 200°C for 15–20 minutes, until the breading is golden brown. Cook with love, and the baked goods will delight you with a crispy crust and melted cheese inside.
Cooking tips
Use a cheese that melts easily (mozzarella, cheddar, or Gouda) to ensure a soft filling. Baked cheese sticks are the perfect appetizer with beer, wine, or just as a family-friendly snack.
