Cranachan
Origin of the recipe
Oats, honey, whiskey, and whipped cream combine to create the unique flavor of ancient Scotland, embodied in the traditional Cranachan dessert. Ripe raspberries add a touch of northern summer. In Scottish cafes, the ingredients for this dessert are served separately, and patrons mix it themselves in tall glasses.

Cooking tips
Steel-cut oats are very coarsely ground whole oat grains, almost half a grain. This ingredient is available online. For this dessert, it's best to use good-quality whiskey; it will taste better. Soak the oats in whiskey in the refrigerator; warm temperatures will cause the alcohol to evaporate.
