Raspberry Mojito with Basil
Origin of the recipe
The Raspberry Basil Mojito is a modern twist on the classic Cuban mojito cocktail, which has a long history. The original mojito was popular in Cuba and dates back to the 16th century, when Spanish conquistadors used local ingredients like rum, lime, mint, and sugar to create a refreshing drink. Adding raspberries and basil to the mojito is a more modern approach that reflects the trend toward experimentation with cocktails and the use of fresh fruits and herbs. Raspberries add sweetness and vibrant color, while basil imparts a unique aroma and freshness, making the cocktail more interesting and layered.

Cooking tips
A muddler is a special long pestle used to make cocktails.
If your blender is not powerful enough, do not crush too much ice at once to avoid overheating and damage.
Avoid using a blender with thin blades to crush ice, as they can break or at least become dull. Use special ice crushing attachments with crushing elements, not cutting ones.
