King Snake Salad
Origin of the recipe
The name "King Snake" comes from the fact that the salad is often shaped like a snake or other animal. This makes it not only delicious but also visually appealing. Such designs have become popular during holidays, especially New Year's, when the symbol of the year (such as a snake) is used in decorations.

Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Boil the chicken fillet in salted water with bay leaves and spices to taste (such as black pepper and paprika). After cooking, cool and cut into small cubes or shred.
Step 2:
Finely dice the sweet onion. To reduce the bitterness, you can steep it in boiling water for a couple of minutes, then drain. Finely dice the mushrooms and fry in vegetable oil until golden brown. Season with salt and spices to taste. Let the mushrooms cool slightly.
Step 3:
Grate the carrots coarsely and fry until soft. If desired, add a little vegetable oil for juiciness. Let the carrots cool.
Step 4:
In a deep bowl, combine the chicken fillet, sautéed mushrooms, carrots, and onions. Add sour cream and a little mayonnaise for binding. Toss the salad and adjust salt and spices as needed.
Step 5:
Place the salad on a large platter, shaping it into a snake shape. Use your hands and a spoon to carefully shape the snake's body.
Step 6:
Slice black and green olives into rings and arrange them alternately on the surface of the salad, creating a "scales" pattern. You can use whole olives or small pieces for the eyes, and a strip of carrot for the tongue.
Step 7:
Garnish the dish with fresh herbs around the "snake" for a brighter appearance. Chill the salad in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before serving.
Cooking tips
Filling variations: You can add grated cheese, boiled eggs or fresh cucumber to the salad for a variety of flavors and textures.
Mixing the sauce: If you want to lighten up the salad, replace some of the mayonnaise with plain yogurt. This will reduce the calories while still maintaining the creamy texture.
Preparing ingredients in advance: To save time, you can boil the chicken and fry the mushrooms the day before preparing the salad.
Decoration: For additional decoration, you can add small vegetables or berries, such as pomegranate seeds or sliced bell peppers, to make the salad look even more elegant.
Serving: Serve the salad chilled.
