Chicken with potatoes in cream

Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Cut whole chicken legs into thighs and drumsticks.
Step 2:
Drizzle the legs with vegetable oil, add salt, pepper, sprinkle with paprika and rub the spices into the meat.
Step 3:
Melt butter in a frying pan and fry the chicken until golden brown on both sides.
Step 4:
Finely chop the onion.
Step 5:
Remove the chicken from the pan.
Step 6:
Place the onion in the pan and fry for 5 minutes, stirring.
Step 7:
Crush a clove of garlic into the pan.
Step 8:
Cut the potatoes into large pieces and add to the pan.
Step 9:
Add salt, pepper, thyme and coat the potatoes completely with spices.
Step 10:
Add water, stir, cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 11:
Add 250 ml of cream and stir.
Step 12:
Add mustard and stir.
Step 13:
Place the chicken in the pan, cover and simmer for 15 minutes, turning occasionally.
Step 14:
Finely chop the parsley and sprinkle over the contents of the pan.
Step 15:
Check the potatoes are ready, add salt to taste, place on a plate and serve.
Cooking tips
Don't fry the onions too much, otherwise they will become bitter.
Don't overcook the chicken, otherwise it will become too dry and even simmering it in sauce won't fix it.
This dish requires cream with more than 23% fat content.
