These beautiful chocolate flower cookies will brighten up any birthday or wedding.
Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Place flour in a bowl and grate butter into it using a coarse grater. Mix and knead with your hands.
Step 2:
Add the yolk, salt, vanilla sugar, baking powder, sour cream, powdered sugar, mix with a spatula and knead the dough with your hands.
Step 3:
Shape the dough into an oval shape, divide into two unequal parts, and put the larger part in the refrigerator for 10 minutes, wrapped in film.
Step 4:
In a clean bowl, combine cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of milk, stir.
Step 5:
Mix the smaller portion of the dough in a bowl with the diluted chocolate, knead the chocolate dough and put it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
Step 6:
Remove both pieces of dough from the refrigerator, place them on a board, cut each piece into 15 pieces and roll into 15 white and 15 chocolate balls.
Step 7:
Roll out a ball of white dough into a flat cake, place a chocolate ball in the center, pinch it on all sides and roll it out until the chocolate dough is completely covered inside.
Step 8:
Carefully roll the dough with chocolate filling into a fluffy flatbread.
Step 9:
Make five cuts from the edge to the center and form five petals by pinching the white dough.
Step 10:
Make three decorative, non-through cuts on the top of each petal. Repeat this process with the remaining cookies.
Step 11:
Place the cookies on a baking sheet. Brush the flower centers with egg yolk and sprinkle some white and black sesame seeds on the yolk.
Step 12:
Bake in the oven for 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. Place on a serving platter and serve, sprinkled with powdered sugar.
Cooking tips
You can use margarine instead of butter.
Be careful when rolling out the dough for the last time so that the layers of dough do not mix.
