Pudding is one of the most famous dishes of English cuisine. There are many variations of this dessert, but the simplest version is a sweet casserole of rice or semolina porridge with eggs, eaten cold. It's a tender, delicious, and filling dish, especially for children. Make a very simple semolina pudding that even a novice can make.
Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Pour milk into a ladle and bring to a boil.
Step 2:
Add sugar, vanilla sugar and salt. Stir.
Step 3:
Gradually, stirring, add semolina and cook for 3 minutes until thickened.
Step 4:
Remove the semolina porridge from the stove and cool slightly.
Step 5:
Add butter, starch and egg.
Step 6:
Beat the mixture with a mixer.
Step 7:
Grease the pan with butter, sprinkle with semolina, put the mixture in, brush the top with egg and bake for 40 minutes at 180 degrees.
Step 8:
Cool the pudding and refrigerate for 5-6 hours.
Cooking tips
Semolina should be poured into the milk in a thin stream as it begins to boil, stirring vigorously to prevent lumps from forming.
If you add eggs to very hot porridge, they will boil and the pudding will not work.
You can decorate the pudding before serving to your taste – with berries, jam or chocolate chips.
