Break an egg into a bowl, add a pinch of salt, pour in sugar and mix with a whisk.
Step 2:
Pour in milk and melted butter, stir.
Step 3:
Sift the mixture of flour, baking powder and vanilla into a bowl and mix with a whisk.
Step 4:
Knead the dough by hand, wrap it in plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
Step 5:
Dust the dough with flour and roll it out with a rolling pin into a rectangular sheet.
Step 6:
Cut the dough into rectangles with a pizza cutter.
Step 7:
Make several transverse cuts on each rectangle, two-thirds of the way down.
Step 8:
Place a teaspoon of thick apple jam on the uncut part of each rectangle and roll the cookie into a tube diagonally.
Step 9:
Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10-12 minutes at 180 degrees.
Step 10:
Dust the cookies with powdered sugar and serve.
Cooking tips
After rolling out the dough, trim the edges to form a perfect rectangle.
The apple jam for the filling must be thick, otherwise it will leak out of the slits.
Instead of jam, you can use chocolate cream, mixed with nuts for a thicker consistency. You can also use apples, grated with lemon and cinnamon.
