Denver omelet
Origin of the recipe
The name of this hearty American omelet is associated with the city of Denver, Colorado, and, according to legend, dates back to the days of the Wild West. Sometimes this omelet is simply called a "western omelet." This hefty omelet with ham, cheese, and vegetables could feed an entire group of cowboys or gold miners.

Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Break eggs into a bowl, add salt and pepper, add milk and whisk.
Step 2:
Finely chop the onion and add to the bowl.
Step 3:
Finely chop the bell pepper and ham, grate the cheese on a coarse grater and add to the bowl.
Step 4:
Grease a baking dish with butter and pour the omelette mixture into it.
Step 5:
Bake for 20 minutes at 200 degrees.
Step 6:
Serve sprinkled with parsley.
Cooking tips
Chop the ingredients finely and into roughly equal sizes so that they are evenly distributed in the egg-milk mixture.
For an omelette, a 22x22 cm square pan is best.
Serve the omelette hot.
