Separate the yolks from the whites and place the whites in a bowl.

Pour milk into a saucepan over medium heat, add sugar and vanilla extract. Mix well.

Beat the egg yolks thoroughly with a whisk together with the milk.
Step 4:
Heat the milk, stirring over low heat.
Step 5:
Pour the hot milk into the egg yolks, stir and return to the saucepan with the milk.
Step 6:
Continue stirring the milk over low heat, do not boil.
Step 7:
Stir until the foam subsides and the dessert thickens. Then remove the pan from the heat and stir for a few more seconds.
