Meatloaf with ham and herbs
Origin of the recipe
Meatloaf has been a culinary staple since time immemorial—the first recipe, created by the ancient Romans, dates back to the 5th century BC. Since then, its various variations have earned a well-deserved place in the cuisines of both Europe and the Americas. Of course, it's not actually bread. This dish consists of ground or finely chopped meat, baked in a pan, and when finished, it does indeed resemble a loaf of bread. In English-speaking countries, meatloaf is called meatloaf, where "meat" refers to meat and "loaf" refers to the rectangular shape typical of bread. Each country has its own unique twist on meatloaf preparation. This applies not only to spices and seasonings, but also to a wide variety of ingredients—from eggs and cheese to vegetables and herbs (and the popular American recipe is distinguished by the fact that the top of the meatloaf is usually generously smeared with ketchup, a favorite American favorite). Additives can be mixed into the minced meat or placed inside in layers.

Cooking tips
Try to slice the fillet as thinly as possible, but don't worry if the pieces are uneven or break. They'll still be inside the "loaf" and won't significantly affect the final appearance.
Meatloaf can be used both hot and cold, as a standalone dish or on sandwiches.
Decorate as desired and serve meatloaf for any occasion!
