Jellied pie with kefir and cabbage in a frying pan
Origin of the recipe
If you're not quite comfortable baking real stuffed pies yet, or you're just too lazy, try a "lazy" version: a kefir-based cabbage pie baked in a frying pan instead of the oven. It's easy to make, quick to prepare, and delicious.

Step-by-step recipe
Step 1:
Finely chop the cabbage.
Step 2:
Finely chop the onion and heat it for about two minutes in vegetable oil in a frying pan.
Step 3:
Add the cabbage to the pan, season with salt, pepper, and cumin. Stir and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes.
Step 4:
Add chopped herbs and heat everything together until the liquid evaporates. Transfer the prepared filling to a bowl.
Step 5:
Pour kefir into a deep clean bowl, add soda, and stir.
Step 6:
Add salt and egg, mix again.
Step 7:
Sift flour into the mixture and whisk until smooth.
Step 8:
 Grease a deep frying pan with vegetable oil, pour a third of the batter into it, spread it out.
Step 9:
Place the filling on top of the dough, smooth it out and cover it completely with the remaining dough.
Step 10:
Cover the pan with a lid and place it on low heat for 10-15 minutes, until the pie is golden brown.
Step 11:
Turn the pie over, brush the top with butter and bake for another 10-15 minutes.
Cooking tips
You can use any greens – spinach or parsley.
You can check whether the bottom of the pie is browned by carefully lifting it with a spatula.
Turn the pie over to the other side using a plate.
